ROME (February 1, 2011) - In the month of December, the youth unemployment rate has broken through the threshold of 29%. This was announced by ISTAT listing the seasonally adjusted data based on preliminary estimates. These are the worst estimates from 2004, the year I started the series. The number of people who have no employment in the age group between 15 and 64 years, said the Institute for Research in December 2010 rose again by 0.1% compared to November and that of the previous year, 2009.
In the same month in December 2010 the overall rate of unemployment remained unchanged at 8, 6%, the same percentage affected in the month of November. Also employed are stable at 57%, while the people fall in search of work. In this case, the decrease in demand is due to women.
