as joint winners with Melania Mazzucco Pozzale Literary Prize in 2010, Gad Lerner come Tuesday, July 13th at Empoli. We asked a few questions to renowned journalist about his award-winning book, "Sparks, a history of wandering souls," the actuality of our country and beyond.

Sparks We can say that represents a journey in search of their roots. How much do these affect on who we are?

I think that we should not exaggerate the importance of giving. I do not think that I discovered I traveled to the sites from which my family, the answers to my needs today. This is a big hoax. Who thinks that the past there drive and can dictate the choices rather us do it wrong. I went to try to fill holes in the history of blacks in my family. Our responsibility is still linked to today, I do not believe this story of the roots.

regard to the recent Israeli attack on the Freedom Flottille we have not heard a strong voice of condemnation rise generally, even by Israeli peace activists. It 'really so or not these items have come down to us?

I was in Israel that day. The perception I had was a sense of embarrassment, shame general. The next day I was in Tel Aviv to present my book and I'm amazed that I have not been attacked, as is usually the case, since they are very critical of the Israeli right, because they had seen with their eyes glaring inefficiency of the army and as a result of the ruling class. The worst thing that will in time was to have broken the alliance with Turkey for Israel is vital. It 'been a disaster across the board. There were, even if they came up news here demonstrations by peace activists who are a small minority, it is useless to hide. There is much pessimism among Israelis for the current situation.
